Cardinal Cody

John Cardinal Cody gained notoriety as Chicago's Archbishop. He was known for treating priests and nuns more like slaves then like clergy. If they protested against his rudeness, he threatened to fire them. He also cold-heartedly fired old priests who were unable to continue their work - many of them ended up on the streets, homeless and unemployed.
Cody was also supposedly involved in the assassination of Pope John Paul the first.
